Prepaid sim swap nightmare

I bought a new micro sim because I've got a new phone. Then I called 100 to do a sim swap. The call centre agent was either deaf or stupid. First she asked me questions to which I do not have an answer. I've had this number for over a DECADE. How on earth am I supposed to remember every little detail?!? Then I told her the questions she's asking is NOT what is printed in the booklet I received and that I had all the info according to the booklet. So I tried to give her my recently dialled numbers. She couldn't get it right. I had to repeat it OVER and OVER because she kept getting it wrong. Eventually she told me that the system had blocked her due to too many number tries and that I had to take my ID and proof of residence to a Vodacom shop to do the sim swap. Thus I trekked all the way to the vodacom shop, just to find out that there was some hassle and now I either needed the sim certificate or an affidavit to do a sim swap. The sim is OVER A DECADE old! The sales assistant in the shop couldn't even tell me what I needed to put in the affidavit. I need this sim swap done or I WILL find another service provider.
