Premature cancellation of contract

I have received the most pathetic service from Vodacom legal department when I queried the fact that I had settled my account on the 11th August 2016 as the final payment. To my surprize, I was billed on the 20th August and I reversed the payment accordingly. I called Vodacom and each time I would speak to different people that would promise to escalate my matter. On the 7th of August 2017, I spoke to Maureen from Legal department who promised to escalate my matter as she can see what my query was about and acknowledge the fact that I should have not been billed after paying the Premature cancellation contract amount as provided by Vodacom and should expect an sms confirming the escalation. Today the 11th August, I received an sms from attorneys who are talking about arrangements. I called Vodacome and spoke to Thandeka in Legal department, who told me she doesn't know any Maureen and that she cannot assist me as my account has been handed over. I asked to speak to the supervisor and was given Mampane who told me that I was not billed the invoice of August. I then asked her, if I had called to cancel my contract prematurely and asked for a final settlement amount, why did Vodacom not include this amount on the Premature contract cancellation? She said these are two different transaction and I refused to accept what she was telling me as she insist that my account has been handed over but refuses to deal with my complaint. I asked her for her managers contact/e-mail, she refused and kept on saying my account has been handed over. I'm really disgusted by the service I got from Vodacom and I need a person to resolve this matter as your Call Centre is not capable to resolving my query.

From: Sibeko, Phindi
Sent: Monday, October 24, 2016 11:37 AM
To: ********** ********** /> Subject: FW: EC-046I-27TP79 Cancellation of contract - Phindile Cebekhulu

Good Day again,

I need to know when will Vodacom deactivate my number. I spoke to Lesley from your Collections call Centre who confirmed that I still have an active contract with Vodacom and that I owe Vodacom money. After explaining to him that I cancelled my contract, he put me on hold and tried to transfer to someone. The irritating part is that firstly, he transfers me to another department without the courtesy of telling me that I’m being transferred and the reason why is he transferring me.

I requested him to sort out my current complaint, which is de-activating the contract I had with Vodacom and also sort out the outstanding balance that is under my name as I have fully settled my contract with Vodacom. By the way this Lesley guy is telling me that I needed to be billed for August when I cancelled my contract on the 10th August and was given a quotation valid for 20days and I paid the following day.

I have never dealt with such incompetency and I’m glad I don’t have any business with Vodacom whatsoever.

Very annoyed

Phindi Sibeko

From: Sibeko, Phindi
Sent: Tuesday, September 20, 2016 12:35 PM
To: ********** /> Subject: FW: EC-046I-27TP79 Cancellation of contract - Phindile Cebekhulu

Good Day,

Please make sure you update your systems with my cancellation and I don’t ever want to get any IVR messages regarding money owed to Vodacome as I paid the cancellation fee and I don’t have any dealings with Vodacom.

If I ever get another IVR call, stating that I owe you money, this won’t be the last you hear from me and I believe you only take action when a person runs to media and I’m more prepared to do that. Dear UW, I cannot believe how pathetic VODACOM is. I'm now unable to buy a house because of VODACOM listing me and meaning the above has not yet been sorted. Yesterday, I sent an email to the person that assured me that I have no contract with Vodacom and have not receive any response. So if Vodacom only understands complaint via Hellopeter, then I'm asking myself if Hellopeter is indeed effective. I need a paid up letter confirming that I don't owe you and you have cleared my name on the Credit bureax. I'm now involving the Ombudsman as you are not worried about Hellopeter and Service means nothing to you..
