Prelegal stage and ITC blacking listing error
June 2021, I decided that my cell phone needed an upgrade. I went to the V&A Vodacom store, to query what was needed. The team member informed me that my account was made pre-legal stage but that she couldn't see why that is nor could she change it. I was advised to call the settlements division. Despite 3 attempts, due to the calls keep dropping, I managed to speak to gentleman at the division. Upon investigation (which took less than 30sec) the consultant discovered that my account was not in arrears, only the current amount was due which was paid already. Not only this, he established that my account in the past has always been paid and that I have never not paid my account. He could not explain why I had been made prelegal. He said he would fix the issue right away. A month down the line I go back to Vodacom to upgrade the contract only to be met with the same issue. While in-store I attempted to call the call centre again - and the calls kept dropping. I eventually got hold of a consultant who said she would fix the error and that it would be sorted within a few hours. The consultant in the store advised that as a result of this my credit rating didn't allow me to even upgrade, even if the mistake was corrected. The call centre agent advised that the store call acquisitions who will be able to sort this out. Come the following day, being the 29 July, I called the legal department and spoke to Imraan Muller who had to again fix the error as it has still not been done. Alarming again he had to notify ITC of the issues to remove my name from being black listed. Again this error was not my fault. I receive a monthly account and have paid it no later than the 27th of each month and have now had my credit rating affected by an error from Vodacom's side. Imraan advised that the error will be fixed in 10minutes and that I would be able to upgrade today. However, I need confirmation from someone that this has actually occurred AND that ITC will remove this error and in effect ******* black listing.
