PREJUDICE CORPORATE WHO TREAT CLIENTS WITH ZERO CONSIDERATION OR CARE
At present I currently pay Vodacom R1319.03 per month for two lines including a Samsung S21 which I upgraded to in October 2021 and that doesn't include the top ups I buy regularly. Since I'm in need of a laptop, I contacted Vodacom to upgrade but they rejected me based on the fact that I am on debt review. Whilst I understand the basic premise of this, there are a few things that have left a very bitter taste in my mouth to the extent that I will cancel my contracts and move my prepaid numbers over to any other service provider, but I will never again do business of any kind with Vodacom going forward.
1. I have been on debt review since May 2019 - this wasn't an issue when I upgraded in 2021, so why is it now?!
2. In the well over 10 years of being loyal customer of Vodacom, I have always paid my monthly bill ranging between R1300 per month and R2600 per month. So why is it that Vodacom is suddenly scared I won't pay my bill now?
3. When covid hit and I completely lost my salary, Vodacom refused to let me cancel a line which had no handset attached to it to try ease the financial burden I experienced as a result of covid and EVEN THEN I still paid my account in full every month.
With all the above in mind I take it VERY personally that Vodacom will not finance me for a laptop that's cheaper than the phone they've been financing me for over the last two years.
It's not a problem. I will have the R16500 funds to buy the laptop cash at the end of August, but Vodacom can officially say goodbye to me as a client as I am so petty I won't even remain with them as a prepaid client.
And I know my R1300 - R2600 is but a drop in their ocean of revenue, but if I'm being treated this way then I know I'm not the only one and slowly but surely the numbers will drop and they will fade into obscurity the same way Motorolla and Nokia did. All big corporations ultimately suffer the same fate when they become too big for their boots and fail to properly address the human elements of their business.
