Potential theft, Zero customer centricity and shocking process.
My Vodacom contract expired more that 18 months ago and the account has not been used since then. Late last yr I received email that I had been handed over to the legal team as I had not Paid my A/C .To my knowledge I had cancelled my Contract. (more on that later). Not wanting to have a bad Credit rating the ac was paid and we were told that the issue had been resolved. I have just received another call from VC that I owe another R600 because they could not cancel the contract because there was a legal "flag on the A/C. This is a major flaw in the process. To release the block I need to pay and they the contract can then be cancelled... how many times will this go around... How is it that a company can keep charging an account for 18 Months and then track one down to say that one has been handed over, but could not do that after month one... is this a cash *** scheme… how may times has this happened. Would be interesting to see the stats. Secondly, how can a company charge a customer for 18 months after a contract has expired and is not being used, Surely there is a correlation between usage and payment. Does this amount to theft, poor process or exploiting the customer. . Yes I do get the point that if one does not cancel the contact it still runs.... Is this how we treat customers? During the process we asked for statement of the phone usage... Guess what, we received statements that did not belonged to another number. I feel sorry for the staff having to contact customers.
