It is very strange that a simple thing as a Port from Cell C to Vodacom is giving me so much trouble. Let me divulge the history: - Decided to leave Cell C due to the issues with the network and the bad publicity regarding Fair Value adjustments to Zero Value - Opted for Vodacom as both me and my wife were long time Vodacom Clients and only moved to Cell C because of more beneficial contracts offered which Vodacom could not match. - Cancelled Cell C contracts, and moved to Prepaid - Bought Vodacom SIM Cards, and opted to Port - which was acknowledged by Vodacom to take effect on 5 November 2019. - By 18 November 2019 the ports were cancelled for no apparent reason - Called Vodacom (At my own expense as I am still on Cell C - cost me in excess of R200 for the calls to the porting department) - Port department advises I must go "Back" to the store and inquire as to why the port cancelled as it was cancelled by me in strore - firstly I NEVER WENT TO THE STORE I opted for the simple "Just send an SMS to Port" - what a joke! - Reluctantly went to the store to get the information and opted to again pay for a new SIM Card and get both contracts sorted and ported to Vodacom - My Contract was authorised immediately and I got my SIM - another R106 later for a SIM which cost me R3.50 instore for Prepaid - ridiculous! - My wife's contract was pending - Went back a few days later from not hearing from the store - still pending - A Week later I opted to cancel the request - and resubmit the request on my wife's name - Authorised a day or so later - Went to the store to sign and get the SIM (Another R106 later) - Port went through during the evening of Friday 29 November 2019. - Since then the following issues: - My number unable to receive calls from the "Nashua network" - hence the reason for not hearing from the Vodacom store as their Nashua lines says my number does not exist - took 2 weeks plus to resolve (Remember my number ported earlier the month) - My wife - unable to send or receive SMS messages - No data connection (On a Data Contract) - No iMessage / Facetime activation - Unable to receive any calls
These problems were reported to Vodacom store and assured that it will be resolved. My porting issues got resolved yesterday - after numerous complaints and follow ups. My Wife still having problems - no resolution and spending hours on hold and in conversation with the Porting department and Customer Care - who does not even know how the iPhone works but are expected to assist in resolving issues. I was promised in no uncertain terms both last night and this morning that I will be contacted at 8 am by the porting department to resolve and finalise this matter so that my wifes' phone will be functional.
The following resolution is requested to be completed by today - as I am tired of these constant issues: 1.) Vodacom will contact me to resolve my wife's porting problems. 2.) I will not wait another 24 Hours - we need to receive the SMS's that have not been delivered as we are awaiting important messages 3.) Written response as to why my wife's details have not been updated on the system for more than 3 years as all the required documents have been submitted in person at Vodacom. 4.) Confirmation that our instruction to Vodacom which states I am authorised to discuss these issues with Vodacom is still after 3 years not active on your system
Contact me to address and finalise as I am tired of phoning you - because as stated to the Call Center and Porting department - my wife can't receive calls from Vodacom Numbers - yet they never opted to take an alternative number (Mine) to call back - terrible and ridiculous service - I expected far better service from the claimed largest network in SA.
