I signed up for a Vodacom 'top up deal' at Game in cresta on the 30th of November. They were unfortunately offline and promised that this was a quick process and will be done the next day. Saturday the 3rd of December, I received a vetting notification from Vodacom. Having heard nothing else I went to Game and they had a difficulty porting my number. I was told that the number needed to be archived by Vodacom. This being a Sunday, it could be sorted out on Monday morning. Tuesday afternoon I called them and they were struggling to get passed this point with Vodacom. I then called Vodacom, who didnt even have me on their system. After being passed from one department to the next, I spoke to lady named Gugu, who offered to try to find out and get back to me. I called Vodacom again and spoke to lady named Cynthia- who confirmed with Gugu that they didnt have any further information re my sign up. I told her that I had a new phone and a Vodacom sim...so how could this be possible. She then told me to go back to Game. At this point I had been to Game twice, called them twice...they seem to be stuck on waiting for the number to be archived. I became a bit irate and advised her that this was not acceptable that I as the customer trying to buy their product will now have to go back and fourth, especially since they seem to be stuck at aGame. She then asked me to go to Gam ean dcall Vodacom from ther? I refused. And said that I know taht she may not be able to assist based on her job spec, but there must be someone at Vodacom who could assist. So she then offered to call Game. Which she did- Cos soon after I received another PIn from Telkom allowing the Port. I was called soon after by the gentleman at Game. I asked him how many times do we have to request the permission from telkom. Its obvious that we are stuck at this point and we needed to try something different. At this point we had 4 PINS from telkom, allowing the porting. On the 7th of December Game attempted to sort this out at management level. The Sales manager from game sent Vodacom ********** a request to have my number archived. The response from Vodacom stated that they will respond in 24hours( that was the 7th)The gentleman from Game has called me a couple of times since. Yesterday he called me again as the PIN from Telkom is only valid for 48hours. PIN number 7! I asked him how will this be any different... we seem to be doing the same thing expecting a different result...The process does not go any further and Vodacom does not do anything to help the situation or acknowledge a problem. I didnt see the point. and if its this hard to get a reasonable sense of customer service, what will I be in for, during the next 2 years. . Welcome to Vodacom...! I have never had a problem porting and I have done it 3 times. So he explained that they have received no response from Vodacom, the lady who called them has not called them again or taken it further within Vodacom. The number that they got from the automated e-mail response- does not get answered. He was now trying to go thru his head office. As he did not know how else to solve my issue. So 12 days later... I havea phone, sim card, 7 Pins authorising porting- not yet connected...
