Porting away from Voda****

I ported AWAY from Vodacom to Telkom Mobile (FreeMe package). Porting on the Telkom side went smoothly.

So herewith the problem:

1) I can RECEIVE calls from any Telkom Mobile number, no problems,

2) However, I CAN NOT RECEIVE any calls from ANY other network (i.e. Vodacom, MTN, Cell C),

3) When my number is called from any other network, you receive a message stating that "the number does not exist" (becasue the NUMBER, NOT the SIM has been deleted from Vodacom's network),

4) Also, I CAN NOT receive any SMS' from any other network (but I receive SMS' on the Telkom Mobile network),

5) I can MAKE calls from my ported number (from the Telkom Mobile network) to any network, no problems,

6) The Vodacom SIM (Subscriber Identification Module) is still active on the Vodacom network, i.e. there is signal on the SIM (which shouldv'e been deactivated by Vodacom, i.e. no signal),

7) So the number therefore ported and is no longer available on Vodacom, however the Vodacom SIM to which my number was associated to, is still active (that is the SIM is still active, not the NUMBER). Vodacom techies don't seem to understand this basic concept.

It has been a month now that I battle to get someone at Vodacom to understand that the SIM is still active and should be deactivated. Therefore my ported number is kind of menaingless unless you call me from a Telkom Mobile network. So much for keeping your number......, hey Vodacom?

How pathetic is this service from Vodacom? I am now moving EVERYTHING AWAY from this pathetic service provider (even it means that I really need to change numbers, but I'm done with them).
