Porting and new contract hassles

On 01 December 2016 I ported my number to Vodacom and took a contract phone thereafter through Vodacom shop in Woodmead retail park (Joburg), with an expectation of recieving Vodacom's reported quality service. Sadly to my disappointment and frustration this was not the case. Firstly, after porting my number, which happened within a day, I could not make calls. I went to the same shop to inquire and was told my number was not properly activated (i.e. it had "available" instead of "active" network status) but should work within 48 hours. Subsequent to this ,I waited for 4 days without my number being able to make calls . I then went back to the same shop to find out. It only took them few seconds to have my number enabled for calling. Why this could not be resolved sooner than 4 days beats me. Secondly, I then app**** for a contract phone through the same shop. I was told to bring the relevant documentation for vetting , which I did, and will recieve a call the same day on the outcome. It took more than 3 days of me going into the shop to inquire on the status of my application. With each visit to the shop I would be promised to get a call for an update, which never materialised. Finally when I got the contract phone, there was no caller ID on the phone (despite being included in my contract). When I inquired at the shop, they could not figured out why caller ID was not working. The shop manager promised to investigate and revert. This was on Monday, 12 Dec 2016, and today is 15 Dec 2016, and still haven't heard a thing from the shop. In my opinion and experience, a simple thing like caller ID activation should not take so long to resolve unless staff has indeferrent attitude. At times I regret porting to Vodacom. Your assistance in resolving in my caller ID issue will be appreciated.

Regards,

Kampong Mabe
