PoPIA bridge - Vodacom Opt Out failure
July 1st is when the new PoPIA came into effect. And most companies in South Africa have spent a lot of money to ensure compliance. But not Vodacom... I have rep**** STOP to each SMS. I have contacted them twice in the last month to initially beg, and then to threaten that I am asserting my rights guaranteed under PoPIA to not receive any marketing communication. But still the marketing SMSs are coming. Today, My Muze. Yesterday, Vodacom Fantasy League. In fact, if a lawyer is willing to take them on for me, this can be arranged. I have reference numbers to prove my requests.

1. I did not explicitly give Vodacom the right to share my information with a third party in response to being asked in a way that I clearly understood what was asked of me.
2. The company that collected the data remains responsible and accountable for my data. It is Vodacom's responsibility to ensure 3rd parties comply with my wishes. Not Mine!!!!
