POPI Act, Vodacom is failing the consumer / customer
This is one of the most scariest and unorganized, companies in South Africa. I app**** for fibre never had fibre before in my area, relocated for work now I could get fibre. 1. The order was a mess as Vodacom opened several orders. 2. They send out technicians from open serve yet you requested Vumatel. 3 You receive a Vumatel rooter and not an open serve router. 4. Takes for ever and no ones knows whats happening. 5. You contact the CEO he does not bother responding but gets people to speak on his behalf. 6. Then you get called and offered a package at a lower price as a gesture of good faith. 7. You get contacted by Priya Naidu who asks questions did you ever apply, your answer is clear with a reason "NO my area never had fibre", she will get back to you. The same day you get an email where she said are you sure you did not apply before, sending through an application, now this is a slap in the face and pure insult to a consumer / customer as clearly you do not believe then and they said no. The worst thing of all the application was for an entire different person with the same name and surname but that's common , the ID was for that person. 8. Vodacom clearly has no regard for the law or protection of the POPI Act, I got send information without the persons consent and I mean the whole caboodle was emailed to me. I got upset and said I will not leave this there. 9. Still nothing from the CEO, eventually I was asked, after I wanted to cancel in I would not give Vodacom a chance, after 1st month there was a connection issue, 2nd month billing issue, 3rd month billing issue again. Yes they credited it and tried to resolve, but you have to actually double check everything. 10. Decided to cancel gave 6 weeks notice, I get told that I will be liable for the router, I lost it, seriously, such bad service. The I get send emails and requests, to reconsider.. but I get numerous emails and smses which say different sales orders and complete and being processed and it Vumatel …. I question what's going on, You get Thato that misses the point and says it got lost in translation, and on the other side a team is looking into it and working on it. Seriously. There is no trust in Vodacom, and the fact that they can freely disrepute a persons information without there consent, no believing the customer, they just go on. There are to many people sitting on top not knowing the actually workings of Vodacom, and to little training provided for the people doing the actual work. I will not let this matter go to rest, someone has to be held accountable, yes I am one man, but I have principles, "if one person believes they can change the world, then they can" so in conclusion, if there is something wrong, those who have the ability to take action, have the responsibility to take action."
