POPI ACT VIOLATIONS

Vodacom is in FULL breach of the POPI ACT. On a regular basis my personal information is shared with third party companies WITHOUT my approval consent. Last month it was ELITE mobile and this month it is MONDO. I have asked, in writing for my details not to be shared, but this simply gets ignored. What is next? How do I stop this unsolicited harassment?? Ombudsman? Restraining order? Or do simply ignore legislation prohibiting you of doing so??

If you fail to comply with the POPI Act, whether intentional or accidental, you can be liable for an administrative fine of up to R10 million or 10 years in jail. If your clients are impacted by a data breach, POPIA even empowers them to take civil action for damages and your reputation may be harmed.

And the Elite Mobile spam calls continue. The staff at Vodacom are COMPLETELY *********** and UNABLE to get me off the spam list.
I will proceed to report you at PAIA South Africa for violation of the act

And yet another call today… this time from your rewards department.
Ironically the “rewards team” reward clients by trying to conn clients to buy more products.
