Poor Vodacom Service
On 30 July 2021, I app**** for a double-deal at Game Zevenwacht. I requested for my current number to be ported to Vodacom from Cell C. The contract was subsequently approved and I was then issued with a new vodacom cell number. I was then advised to go to Vodacom Zevenwacht to have my number ported. Vodacom Zevenwacht initiated the port-in which was subsequently approved. At first they wanted to charge me R160 for the porting of my number. After receiving no joy for more than 2 weeks, I went to Vodacom in Cape Town where a gentleman by the name of Jackson tried to assist. He tried various ways and then suggested that I try the Cell C porting department to find out what the hold-up is. I then contacted the Cell C porting department and spoke to a very knowledgeable gentleman named Xolani. He explained the process and then said that I should tell the Lady at Game that she can contact him if she has any problems. This message was relayed to Natasha at Game, but her system still gave her an error. I was then on leave in Johannesburg and spoke to a Mohammed at Vodacom in Dainfern sqaure. We contacted the port-in department via the customer care centre where I spoke to Simon. This yielded no results. He then suggested that I purchase a prepaid sim and register the port online. This was done and I then contacted port-in department and spoke to a lady who informed that it yielded and error. I explained that I have been struggling to have this number ported from 5 August 2021. I also asked her if there was an error, why did the port-in department not inform me of this. Her reply was that it was not her job to follow-up on this. I then had to re-submit my port-in request. 2 days later I followed up and the port-in department told me I had to wait untill the number wasn't active on the Cell C network anymore. I asked how long? 2 hours, 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years, as the level of service is putrid and told her that I will place a review on Hellopeter, if that is what it takes to get a response from them. The following morning my line was registered on the vodacom network but inactive. It took another day for them to get the line active. Yesterday, the Lady at Game called to inform me that the contract is declined due to a negative credit vetting although nothing has changed from the initial contract approval up till now. It is ridiculous that a simple contract can take almost 2 months to finalise.
I would appreciate it if this matter can be resolved asap. The Lady at Game is at her wit's end and receives no assistance from vodacom.
I wonder if I should just let the contract go and recommend to family and friends that we all move from vodacom to another network.
