Poor service Vodacom Repairs Lakeside

The battery of my Huawei P9 Lite (about 3 and a half to four years old) needed to be replaced. As I stay near Springs, I took it to the Vodacom shop at Springs Mall. They told me they don't sell the battery and I cannot just change the battery myself, I must take it to Vodacom Repairs Lakeside, Benoni, for them to replace the battery.

I took the phone on 21/7/2021. They said they will order the battery and other parts and call me to bring the phone in for replacement. I took the phone on 23/7/2021 and the battery was replaced (job no ***) with a cost of R443.67. After a few days, I realised the new battery is running flat quickly. I took the phone back, Richard assisted me, he made a few changes on the settings of te phone and said it should be fine.

There was no improvement in the battery life. I took the phone back for the second time on 30/8/2021, I was again assisted by Richard. I told him i cannot keep on driving to Lakeside for the same problem, they need to fix the issue. He spoke to his supervisor and told me they will order another new battery and they will call me within 2 to 3 days to bring the phone in and replace the battery. They never called me. I called them on 7/9/2021, the lady said she cannot help me because Richard is not at work, but she will call him and get information needed and call me back within 2 hours. She never called me back.

This is poor customer service. I stay 40 kilometers away from Lakeside, I had to drive there three times already (240 km in total) and will have to drive there again, and I paid R443.67, to get my phone fixed, and still not fixed yet.

Thank you hellopeter for assisting me. Vodacom Lakeside Mall has replaced the "new battery" with another new battery. Now the battery lasts for 60 hours, depending on usage of the phone. Big difference between this battery and the previous "new battery" that was put in the phone by Vodacom Lakside Mall. The previous "new battery" only last for 5 hours and had to be recharged again. Hellopeter is tops, keeping businesses on their toes.
