Poor service from Vodacom
I have been a loyal Vodacom client for longer than I care to remember and have always sung their praises. NO MORE! My account has 3 numbers on it, mine, my husband's and my daughter's. About 3 months ago I upgraded my husband's device, it had been due for an upgrade for ages and I had been called several times to upgrade over the phone and eventually he chose the phone he wanted and I completed the upgrade telephonically (which I kept being reminded was being recorded for quality and training purposes). When I received the first statement reflecting the upgrade, I noticed that my husband's invoice was no different and that they had app**** the upgrade to my daughter's number. Several times, while going through the upgrade process, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade hers (it was also due) and I refused each time, explaining she was waiting for a good iPhone special (back story, she has had iPhones for years and husband and I Samsung and we upgraded him from a Samsung to a Samsung). I called Customer Care, quite confident that this matter could be solved with a few keystrokes. This was not to be. I was first told that this was done through Vodacom Rewards and I would need to call them, which I did, no longer toll free mind you, an 086 number. Handy for some additional revenue when the client calling to fix a problem created by Vodacom, covers half the cost of the call! At first I was told it was flat out impossible to remedy and then, after some heated verbal exchange, I was passed to a more senior person who said they could certainly assist, but that I would need to return my husband's new device!!!!!! SERIOUSLY?????? You made the mistake and we must hand over the device for it to be fixed?????? At this point I lost my temper and nearly melted the phone and eventually was given a case number with the promise it would be fixed without the device being handed back (still wondering what they will do with a now 2nd hand phone if we had agreed to this ludicrous request?) Case number RCO139723. Two more statements refkecting the incorrect number having been upgraded and several blood pressure raising calls later, and we are still in the same situation. The last call, I was promised a call back from a manager, that was over a week ago and I am still waiting..........
