Poor Service and Unprofessional Staff at Vodacom shop (Vereenging, Three Rivers Mall)
On the 18th December 2018 I visited the Vodacom shop in Vereenging (Three Rivers Mall) to have my Huawei P20 Lite glass screen protector removed and replace with a film /silicone screen protector. I was escorted to a gentleman (Edwin) who promised he could assist me with my request. As he was removing my screen protector he cracked and damaged the phone's screen (he was using the pin that is originally intended for opening the Sim card holder). When I inquired about the cracked screen he became defensive and rude to me. I asked him what would be the way forward and he said my phone would be fixed and I would receive an sms to notify me when it was ready. He said this process (of fixing my phone) would take 2 weeks. I waited for 2 weeks and I did not receive an sms from Vodacom. I returned to the Vodacom store on the 3rd January 2019, I asked for Edwin (gentleman that broken my phone) I was told he was off, but fortunately the colleague that had escorted me to Edwin remembered the incident. He said to me my phone was delayed as a result of the holidays and that I should wait for an sms the following week. I waited again. On the 14th January 2019 I went again to Vodacom, Edwin was there (still disrespectful), he told me to come back on Saturday (22nd January 2019). On that Saturday I received a phone but the phone that was handed over to me was not the same phone that I left at Vodacom. The phone now had glue like material sticking out from the sides of the phone and screen. Furthermore the Hauwei name at the bottom of the screen had disappeared and charging the phone took longer now. I was disappointed and unsatisfied with the work done at Vodacom so on Sunday (23rd January 2019), I took the phone back to the store. This was done so as to understand where my phone had been fixed, however I again did not get any joy dealing with the Vodacom staff. When I inquired about the Huawei name that had disappeared I was told by a Vodacom employee at the store that Huawe phones after screen protector has been changed, they do not come back with the Huawei name (I am still very upset and shocked at the knowledge that Vodacom staff is giving customers). On Monday (24th January 2019) I went again to the Vodacom shop to see the store manager (Amelia), I narrated the incident to her, she was aware of the incident. She then proceeded to tell me that my issue was a private matter. Please Vodacom clarify this for me I WENT TO A VODACOM SHOP, CONSULTED WITH A VODACOM EMPLOYEE WHO DAMAGED MY PHONE, AT VODACOM PREMISES, DURING VODACOM WORKING HOURS.. How does your store manager have the audacity to call this a private matter.? I consulted with other Vodacom shops to understand if this private issue concept was a norm at Vodacom, I was told that it is utter nonsense. I am outraged by the treatment I received from the respective Vodacom shop staff members. They have absolutely no respect for customer. I want my phone the way I handed it over to Edwin an Employee of Vodacom. Additionally, please clarify where my phone was fixed and who gave him the permission to do so as well as how Vodacom can allow private business to be conducted within Vodacom business (as stated by Amelia the Vodacom shop store manager).
