Poor Service and No customer care

Dear Vodacom

So I was excited to get an upgrade and get a new phone (iphone6). I got the phone on the second of November 2018 and the phone kept heating up during charging. Around the 20th of November I took the phone in to the tech zone at liberty mall and was informed the phone would need to be taken in for repairs.

I went to the tech zone around the 7th of December 2018 it was 17:40 when I got to the store and this was close to their closing time and was told to back up the phone and then bring it back.

I went back to he tech zone on the 21st of December 2018 as I had been traveling during this time. I was told the system is offline due to system change.

I went back to tech zone on the 22nd of December 2018 and I was told I needed to produce proof of purchase before the phone can be taken in for assessment. This was a shock as with all my visits to the tech zone proof of purchase was not mentioned as a requirement. Then I called the Vodacom call center to request the letter and was told the letter would take about 7 days to be sent. Now I’m carrying a faulty phone and I wonder how long I will have the faulty phone and when it goes to the repair will the phone be exchanged I wonder. Maybe I will be stuck with this faulty phone for the duration of the 24 months contract. During this period (20th November 2018 and 22 December 2018) I have been calling the Vodacom customer care call center and being directed from one department to another and I must say Vodacom service is really terrible...!

I finally managed to hand the phone over to the Vodacom Tech zone at liberty mall on the eighth of January 2019, the has been run around in getting the phone assessed.

To date the phone has not been inspected or anything going onto a full month without the phone.

Thank you Vodacom it seems it’s going to be a long 24 months.
