Poor service and incompetence!

My cellular contract’s end date was the 10th February 2017 with Vodacom where after I elected to end the contract and wanted the number to be able to Port to CellC. After completing the necessary form work in the shop the consultant stated that the proses was complete and that the number would go onto “prepaid” within 4 days whereby CellC can obtain the number for Porting.

After days and weeks of struggle, back and forth between CellC and the Vodacom shops the number is still not released by Vodacom.

First they blocked the number because it went into “Pre Legal”, as the consultant from CellC explained to me that I have an outstanding account with Vodacom. As I said the Vodacom consultant said that the contract termination was completed and did not mention anything about outstanding payments, nobody phoned me to inform me that there was still an outstanding amount on the bill and the number was blocked for porting. This happened within 7 days of cancelling the contract.

After settling the outstanding amount, they went on to say that the number was now “Deleted” because the account had been unpaid for more than 90days, which is a lie because I ended the contract only a few days prior and all my payments went off via debit order for year.

I have had countless discussion with various consultants at the Vodacom shop and they all promise to have the issue resolved and would phone me back but to no avail. While in the Vodacom shop one consultant went on to say, while working with my sim card, that she had looked into that matter and that “our part is clean and the problem is not with us”. My husband has now been trying to sort out the problem as I am fed-up speaking to these people at the Vodacom shop.

He insisted on speaking with the manager, Caren, whom he had to ask for as the personnel there now seem to be running around and trying to bypass us when we walk into the shop, say we will phone you within 24 hours after a problem has been logged, but they never phone back!

Secondly they deleted all the minutes and data on the number after the day we signed the termination form, I feel that I had paid the money for the entire month and they just delete the account and invoiced me a further R195 for who knows what!?

This issue has now been going on for 2 months and Vodacom does not come back to me nor get the issue resolved. I do not want to lose this number for various reasons that I do not even have to mention.

Vodacom has lost me as a client and I will never sign into contract with them again, nor advise anybody else to do so as this is a prime example of incompetence and unacceptable service delivery.
