Poor service

Dear Vodacom Customer Care Team,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and frustration with my recent experiences with Vodacom's customer service and billing department.

On the 12th of December 2023, I contacted Vodacom to request a settlement quotation for my account. Subsequently, I received a quotation and promptly settled the amount of R9180.16 on the same day, per the provided details. To my surprise, when attempting to take out a new contract today, I was informed that my account had an outstanding balance of R630 and had been handed over to the legal department.

During the day, I invested 2 hours and 30 minutes attempting to rectify this issue. I spoke with several customer service representatives, endured multiple transfers to different departments, and even visited a Vodacom store seeking assistance—all of which proved futile.

The most concerning part of this ordeal is the discrepancy between the settlement payment I made (R9180.16) and the alleged outstanding balance (R630) for the December bill. I was initially informed that the payment I made was the remaining balance, and I find it deeply troubling that I am now being told otherwise. This lack of clarity and consistency in communication has caused me significant inconvenience and distress.

Furthermore, I must bring to your attention the unprofessional and dismissive attitude of one of your customer service representatives during a recent call. Instead of offering assistance, the representative questioned whether I wanted to pay the outstanding amount or if they should terminate the employee responsible. Such comments are not only unhelpful but also reflect poorly on the professionalism and customer service standards of Vodacom.

As a loyal customer who has consistently met payment obligations, I find it unacceptable to be subjected to such confusion and unprofessional behavior. I urgently request a thorough investigation into this matter and seek clarification on the following:

The breakdown of the outstanding amount of R630, specifically why this amount was not covered by the settlement payment made on the 12th of December 2023. An explanation of the conflicting information provided by your representatives regarding the nature of the settlement payment. Additionally, I request that appropriate action be taken to rectify the situation promptly, and I expect to be treated with the respect and professionalism that should be standard in customer service interactions.

I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and expect a timely resolution. Please get in touch with me to provide the necessary clarification and updates on the resolution process.

Sincerely, Tshegofatso
