Poor sales services

With the Covid-19 around, I am taking to online purchasing more and more. This is a wonderful time for E-commerce in South Africa to flourish. Which i have seen it do, as i work for an online retail company myself. However it saddens me to see the pathetic incompetence of the Vodacom sales department. I ordered my Laptop online, which i require to work from home and make a living mind you. I got my confirmation emails and so on. Great, i am one step closer to getting this laptop. A sales consultant contacts me and wants to confirm my delivery address. Yay me, there is the finish line, I'm about to get the laptop i have been shopping months for and carefully selected from various options. The sales consultant confirms with me, the order has now been released to the courier services, i should expect a call or SMS from them soon. Delivery will be in 3-5 working days. I get my tracking number from Vodacom in my emails and couple days later after no phone call from the courier company i go online to track the waybill with the waybill number i was provided. Low and behold no tracking information on the site, i get ahold of the courier company, only for them to inform me the order has not been released by Vodacom. No ways, now i am furious. How can you confirm with me that the order has been released and the courier company tells me it hasnt? The customer service agent from the courier company informs me they were waiting on confirmation on the delivery address as it had been half filled in on the system. Vodacom's sales consultant had failed to fill in my address properly and missed out the suburb, after i slowly and patiently went through my address for them spelling out each and every word. Do i now not have to phone the sales department and confirm my delivery address again, days later after i had already done this. The new sales consultant informs me my order will now be released and i should expect it next week. 2 weeks of waiting for delivery of my parcel after i got told i should get it in within 3-5 days?!?!?!? I am appalled at the service of Vodacom and cannot believe if i had not followed up i probably would've never received my parcel ! No wonder we are failing as a country, we can't even manage to achieve the goal of running successful E-commerce business.

Very disappointing. I will be taking my services elsewhere, thank you for nothing Vodacom !
