Poor response on a ***** complaint
Vodacom really doesn't take ***** cases seriously at all... I am not a Vodacom subscriber however I have had a cellphone contract approved on my name twice in less than a month. The first one was on 23/01/23 which I successfully managed to get cancelled through their after sales call centre (***). On Friday I received yet another e-mail on my personal e-mail address confirming yet another application but this time it was 'referred' and not yet approved. I visited the Vodacom 4U store at Mall of the South and was advised that I need an affidavit from the police station. tried calling the call centre again to cancel this ********** application by this time wasn't so lucky and today I received an e-mail welcoming me to Vodacom Red meaning the application is well approved by now. I have been going from pillar to post, given different numbers and e-mail addresses and today I was finally given the ***** department number *** (mind you I sent an e-mail to them on 24/01/23 and to date still no response) but unfortunately that number/department is currently not available, so I had to leave a message... My biggest concern is I haven't been able to get an answer on which personal/financial details of mine were used to get this contract approved within hours at each attempt. Do these people my proof of income or is it that easy to apply and have a contract approved by Vodacom as long as the application is done online?
My issue here is that I am not a Vodacom client however someone was able to successfully apply for a cell phone contract using my details and no one seems to care as much as me in getting to the bottom of this. This application was on "refer" status on Friday the 10th of February however by Monday the 13th the device was delivered via RAM couriers to this same person who is impersonating me and even with that, I am not hearing anything from Vodacom about the source of this application.
I still would like to know which of my financial info was provided for this contract to be approved?
I have in my possession all my original IDs and have never lost one so which ID document was first presented during the application process and more so on delivery of the cell phone?
My bank account has been debited 3 times by Vodacom and as a correction, no credits were passed, I had to reverse these transactions myself through my banking app so how did my bank details end up with Vodacom without confirmation from me?
According to Chuma, there is a voice recording of this application and I would like the opportunity to hear it in case the person doing this is someone I know personally.
I submitted an affidavit at the Vodacom store at the Mall of the South on Sunday the 12th of February however this still wasn't enough to prevent the device being delivered the following morning and I would also like for the courier company to confirm where the delivery took place seeing that the address noted on your records is close to my work address however there is a digit incorrect on that address so it could have never been accurately been delivered to my office... The reference number for the submission at the Vodacom store is ***
I would really appreciate a call from Vodacom about this matter urgently please, my number is ***.
Regards
Nepo
