Poor Effort From Vodacom Upgrades
I am a long-standing customer and I’ve been with Vodacom for 24 years (22 years at the same number) and I’ve come to expect nothing but good service from Vodacom. This was not the case in my recent interaction with the upgrades department.
I called on the 29th May to request an upgrade and I thought all was going well. I realised, however, that I had chosen the wrong capacity (64 Gig instead of the 128 Gig I actually wanted) and I indicated that on the 30th.
Then, nothing happened. On Wednesday the 3rd I phoned again and the person who assisted me went on to do the upgrade all over again because, for some reason, no progress had been made. Then, nothing. Today (5 June) I called and I was informed that the order had been canceled. No one bothered to inform me about this and the reason is really odd. I was told that it was cancelled because I had been “misinformed”. At this stage I have no idea what I was misinformed about and why that led to a cancellation. No one seemed to be able to help me further. I was promised a call by the person who is working on my order but, considering what has happened this week, I’m not holding my breath.
I have therefore decided not to proceed with the upgrade and I will have to figure out what to do. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and do what you can to prevent another client having to go through it. I would still appreciate an explanation if anyone cares enough to bother calling me.
