Today Vodacom really proved that they don't care about their customers!!!
I had Vodacom home fibre installed in my home last month, only to discover that the range doesn't reach the cottage outside. I called the to inform them of this and was offered range extenders. I was told that these were not sold individually but came in packs if 3, said that's fine I'll take all 3 despite only needing 1. To my surprise when the extenders were delivered to me, there was only 2. The invoice also stated 2 so I let that go. The extender only worked on the 1st day and never again, it just wouldn't have a connection. I called Vodacom to advise them about this problem and spoke to a really nice lady who tried to assist me and troubleshoot, we rebooted the routers, moved them around, hard reset etc. After all those efforts she confirmed that clearly the routers/extenders have a problem and need to be replaced. This was on the 10th November. She said a technician would contact me and I asked if they could rather send a technician out, she then logged a service request. On the 15th November someone from Vodacom called and tried to troubleshoot again and was not successful, they then said a technician would be sent out. On the 19th I called Vodacom again to follow up on the service request as no one had come to resolve our issue and we remained without connection in the cottage. I was assisted by a guy named Zishaan, well I'm not sure whether I'd call that being assisted but that's who answered my call. I was completely shocked at his lack of interest in trying to get my issue resolved, once I explained to him the full story. The 1st thing he said to me was the extenders are supposed to be plug and play and they are not trained to assist on them as these are ad on products. I was baffled by this as Vodacom is the one that sold this devices to me. He further went on to tell me that no technician would be sent out to assist me as I need to go through the manual and the lady that had initially assisted me was wrong for logging a service request to begin with. Therefore this was not something he could assist me with, this obviously rubbed me up the wrong way because why would you sell me a product then not offer support on that product. This guy did not even attempt to help, he didn't ask what colour is the extender light giving, is there and error message etc. He was just emphasizing how this was not a Vodacom problem After being on the phone with him for over 30minutes, I asked to speak to his manager which he blatantly refused! He told his manager was listening in on the call and didn't see a need for the call to be escalated. I asked for the managers name, I was given the run around for another 10min and eventually told the mangers is Anele but he refused to provide ,me with a last name. All I know is that she is a manager in the technical support department. He even had the audacity to tell me that they don't handle complaints only technical issues so he didn't see why I needed to speak to his manager. In conclusion, after a 45min phone call I was left without assistance. I still have 2 extenders that I will have to pay for at the end of this month, despite the fact that they've been lying in my home for over a week not working. Why are technical support guys not trained on products that Vodacom sells? Also, if Zishaan says the agent that initially assisted me was wrong in doing so. This means that she was also not properly trained, why then does Vodacom hire staff then put them in the phone when they are not trained or competent? 45min of my time and AIRTIME wasted with no resolution. That's really pathetic and poor customer service.
