Poor Customer Service - Vodacom
I have been a loyal customer of Vodacom for over 15 years without any interruptions or even a single month default. Last year I visited the Vodacom store in Menlyn Maine (Alisom Franchise Group) to renew my contract and get a new phone. I ended renewing my contract for two years which came with a phone. As a freebie, they offered me a tablet which they said all their units come with a sim card. I took the phone and tablet and gave the tablet to a friend who has a son who is still attending crèche. I gave the tablet to a friend because I have no need of it because my children are all grown up and I have a mini-iPad of my own which I use to read eBooks.
After about 8 months or so, I realized from my invoices that there's a number I am being charged for. I then complained to Vodacom Customer Services who then told me after investigating that I took an additional contract. I was advised to complain with Vodacom ***** Dept. Needles to say they promised a turnaround time of 7-14 days, they only reverted back to after 1 month and 4 days. If I was not persistently complaining, the matter would still be open.
The conclusing from the ***** department was that I opened a new account when I renewed my contract. I find this appalling for two reasons: 1. The sim card in question has not been used not even once. Why would I take if I was not going to use but pay for it? 2. After more than 15 loyal years, have I just started to be a Lier for R94 a month?
I consider myself and ex-customer of theirs and I cannot wait for my contract to expire.
I now understand why Mr Makate (Please Call Me guy) has been treated so shabbily.
