Poor Customer Service

Yesterday I upgraded my cellphone contract at Vodacom Cape Gate (lower level store adjacent to Checkers).

Came into the store around 18:20 but had to wait a few minutes to be seen to as they were busy. When the friendly, polite consultant Kalvern, had not finished with the transaction by 7pm, the store manager / Supervisor on duty verbally reprimanded him for still having a customer instore when she needs to leave to use public transport by 7:15.

She proceeded to make further " jabs" at the Kalvern for the next 10minutes seemingly oblivious to any customer service etiquette.

The consultant apologised to me about the delay however the female supervisor / manager didn't look at me once but kept making sarcastic comments to her staff member.

I understand the realities around the use of public transport, however there should be clear guidelines around which staff members stay in store, should there be delays. A customer should never be made to feel unwanted, ignored or a nuisance in any store that claims to have a customer service standard.

I will not be frequenting this store again .

I trust this matter will receive your urgent attention.

Warm regards,

Tracy-Lee Bruyns
