Poor customer experience with an upgrade reversal

I am extremely frustrated with Vodacom, since the end of May 2021 we have tried to reverse an upgrade. The result is that I still need to wait until end of Aug 2021 although I have been promised multiple times that at the end of July 2021 everything will be sorted. A poor customer experience, wish someone can really help me, beacause 15-20 calls didn't help

This query has been ongoing for more than 2 months. We were promised that the reversal will be done on the 31st of July and that my husband would be able to upgrade on the 1st of August. His current phone is broken and he's been without a phone for 2 months - hence the urgency. Is there nothing that can be done to help him to upgrade and get a new phone before then?

He would like to reverse both the package and the handset - not only the handset please.
