Poor Communication

I took up an insurance for a contract phone back in 2008. I renewed my contract until October 2020 when I opted to not renew. Fast forward to 2021, I take my phone in for repairs only to be told that the insurance was automatically cancelled when I chose not to renew the contract. When I quirried not being informed by the consultant that assisted me with the cancellation I was referred to the contract that I signed back in 2008. How anyone would keep a cell phone insurance document for that long, I have no idea. This is my Vodacom4U experience...After more than 10 years of service, a simple "Do you know that the insurance will also be cancelled and that you have to say if you still want to keep?" was too much to ask.
