Poor after-sales service on defective product
On the 27th December 2014 I activated my new phone (Sony Xperia Z3) which I received as an upgrade to my contract. On the 2nd January 2015 I had to take it in because the screen no longer worked. I received the phone back from Vodacom repairs, but the NFC function did not work which meant that I had to return the phone yet again. When I received the phone back from repairs on the 10th of February 2015 I was told that the phone itself had been changed (I was given a new IMEI number). I realized that the audio jack socket did not work with any of my cables (including the Sony headset that came with the phone).
I phoned Vodacom customer care and spoke to Cynthia (time:09H17, 12 Feb 2015), she told me to take the phone back to Vodacom repairs again. When I informed her that I had been paying for a phone which I had not been able to use for more than a month (possibly 2 months if taken back to repairs for the third time) she said that they could not reimburse me, but she could only offer an apology. I find this unacceptable that I am paying for a defective product with no option to exchange it or receive any compensation.
