I handle the cellphone contracts for our company. We have 25 Contracts with Vodacom. In mid-October, I started receiving calls from Shannon Dwarika. Her title was "Enterprise Business Unit Specialist". She said that she had analyzed our contracts and some of them, based on usage, should be migrated to different more suitable contracts to lower our account. She phoned me numerous times and I kept explaining that I was out on the road and could not apply my mind at the time. Eventually, I had the conversation with her and agreed to follow her advice. Most of the recommendations were useful, but she made 2 mistakes. She made recommendations of 2 of the contracts that were totally over the top. One of our staff abused their data for 1 month only and because of this, she recommended the contract be upgraded to RED EXECUTIVE! This abuse of the contract was a once off event and if she had bothered checking the previous months, she would have realised this. So we now have a plumber with the top contract Vodacom has to offer. When I realised this, I contacted her to ask to change the contract down to Red Business (which is still an upgrade on what we had initially). She then advised me that there would be a fee of R 5101.50 for the downgrade. I can't accept this. If we had migrated the contract as part of an upgrade and received a new device as part of the process, I could understand the cost. But the migration we did was during the term of the contract without the benefit of a new device. I would like to be contacted by a senior person in Vodacom to look at this matter and realise their error. I would like the migration to take place without a fee and for the difference between the cost of the Red Executive contract and the Red Business contract to be refunded to us, backdated to when the mistake occurred.

To date, no senior person from Vodacom has contacted me, despite numerous emails.
