Pointless back and forth on a simple issue!!!

I have deleted my Whatsapp application on my Samsung S7 because it wouldnt download pictures and videos. So when i reinstalled it, it keeps now giving an error message saying that it can't connect to the internet. Everything else on the phone works including the internet, Gmail, sms's etc. So i tried to email Vodacom who was really not helpful, saying that i must contact an online support group which is offline or Whatsapp which is based in America. Clearly there is a problem with Vodacom's connectivity when it comes to the Whatsapp application. Can someone please just assist me in fixing this? How is Whatsapp in America going to assist me here?
