phone still not returned after cracked screen

the long and short of it, my mother in-law took her phone in to Vodacom Empangeni as it had a small crack on the bottom of the screen, on 12April 2016 it was then sent to Umhlanga repair centre (job no: ********** 9) they charged her R685.00 for a faulty part which she paid for and then received an additional quote of R2700.00 to replace the cracked screen, my mother in-law was not prepared to pay this amount of R2700.00 and declined the quotation.

after a month her phone still not returned from Umhlanga they said that they went ahead and fixed the screen and due to her declining the quotation they need to wait for a broken screen to come then they will replace the new screen with a broken one.

when the phone arrived at Empangeni on opening it the screen was cracked completely from a small crack at the bottom to the whole screen being cracked, she refused to accept the phone in that state, she also requested why she paid the R685.00 but they cannot confirm what this was for.

the phone was sent back to Umhlanga on the 26 May 2016 (job no ********** 6) and to date still no feedback on were her phone is or what the process is.

I have to say that I think this is absolutely pathetic service from a big company like Vodacom.

at this point we believe that you have broken contract as the quotation was never accepted but they went ahead anyway, and we will take this further if nothing comes from this.
