Phone number deactivated without consent unable to get it reactivated

Good Day

I am writing out of deep frustration and desperation.

I previously had a contract under the Vodacom Red Core plan. After immigrating to Australia, I contacted Vodacom in June to cancel the contract, as it was no longer suitable for my situation. I specifically requested that my number be retained as a prepaid number.

Unfortunately, the number was deactivated.

Since the beginning of July, I have been trying to resolve this matter without success. I have been passed from one department to another, and despite explaining that I am now overseas, I am often referred to Vodacom stores, which I cannot physically access. I have even sent friends and family to branches on my behalf, still couldn’t be helped.

I have tried to convey the seriousness of the issue: I cannot access my funds in multiple South African bank accounts (over four institutions), as this number is linked to all my OTPs. I am now stranded in Australia without access to my money.

I attempted to set up a temporary eSIM just to retrieve my OTPs, but that too was unsuccessful.

I urgently need assistance. My deactivated number is: It was on the old M2 system.

Please understand that I am incurring high international call costs as I cannot use your toll-free numbers from abroad.

I am pleading for urgent help to reactivate my number or find a workable solution.

Kind regards, Tee
