Phone in for repairs, have to buy a new phone

My Iphone 5c's screen was cracked, I gave it in for repairs at the Lakeside Mall Repair centre. They insisted that I have to disable my iphone locator. They then phoned me and told me that the screen could not be fixed and I'll have to buy a replacement phone. I then said I will have to speak to my husband, but they had to get an answer now. So I said ok I will buy the phone. My husband then informed me there is a guy that come to your house fix your phone in front of you and charge about a R1000. So I phoned Vodacom shop and told the lady that I want my old phone back, she said 'sure mam we will just cancel the estimate'. I then had to send snotty emails to get a response from the manager, he said my phone was destroyed as soon as I said ok. So we asked him again to look into it. Now the phone was shipped to back to apple. NOW WHERE IS MY PHONE??? I have to pay for a contract that I can not use and the phone wasn't even a year old. Vodacom only cares about money and does not care how they get it.
