Phone Blacklisted
I’m livid, but more than anything really disappointed by Vodacom. My phone stopped working on (02/05/18), I couldn’t make or receive calls. The next morning(03/05/18) I woke up to the same problem (No Connection-Emergency Calls Only).I called their customer service to find out if maybe my number was blocked but that wasn’t the issue, I was advised to go to the nearest store and get a new sim-card and do a sim swap. When I got to the Lake Side Mall store I found out that my phone has been blacklisted without my knowledge. The blacklisting was done on the 17th April 2018, at the store they couldn’t give me a reason why it was so, I was just told to go to the police station and get an affidavit then come back to the store to fill in a form .Later in the day I decide to call customer care again to find out why my phone was blacklisted. I spoke to 2 consultants who told me the phone was blacklisted by MTN and I should resolve the matter with them; mind you I have no relation with MTN whatsoever, my contract is with Vodacom. I asked the consultant how MTN got hold of my IMEI number and why I should I be the one to call MTN as I’m not their customer. I didn’t get a straight answer just bad attitude from their consultant. Using my airtime I called MTN and spoke to Philisiwe and I was told my IMEI number doesn’t reflect on their system so they couldn’t have blacklisted my phone. Again I called Vodacom customer service and luckily I spoke to a lady called Gabisile who tried to be helpful and explained that my phone was blacklisted by MTN as it was reported ****** but she can help me un-blacklist the phone. She sent me an email with the un-blacklist request form and got a ref no EC-1JEJ-2EEB8W.She said it would take 24hours to be resolved. It’s been 72 hours now, I spoke to the manager (Tarrin) at the Vodacom Lakeside Mall store who keeps telling me that she has escalated the matter. I’ve been hearing the same story from both the manager and consultants at the customer service centre; for days now and no one seems to know what is happening and when this matter will be resolved. My sim card doesn’t work on any other phone as well. This is very frustrating as I can’t do business, I can’t do my banking and Vodacom doesn’t seem to care. As I type this review I’m in tears because I feel soo helpless and don’t know what to do anymore.
