Phishing attacks, had to cancel my credit card, its Vodacom!!

<p>Today I got three SMS's from my OWN phone number, send to myself saying:</p> <p>At 11:24:</p> <p>"Your OTP that you have requested for log-ins is: ####"</p> <p>At 11:25:</p> <p>"Your OTP that you have requested for log-ins is: ####" (a different number)</p> <p>At 11:28:</p> <p>"Your OTP that you have requested for lo-ins is: ####" (another number)</p> <p>Now I was freaking out that someone is trying to crack into my bank account. 3 attempts within a few minutes, the message does not even state for which service, and the SMS's are from my own phone, so I don't have any leads, and I did not know who to contact!! I had done someone online shopping the night before so I thought someone is trying to commite banking *****.</p> <p>I phoned Capitec and they said they dont have OTP SMS's. I then phoned my credit card company, and they do have OTP messages, so they cancelled my credit card. I now have no credit card for 10 buisness days, and I booked many things for my up and comming honeymoon, that I paid with this now cancelled card, that card I have to present (and is on their system to pay for various expenses), so now I am in a sticky situation.</p> <p>Only to later find out it is VODACOM doing something in the background, with out communicating what it is doing. This is highly unprofessional and disruptive, and is crossing a personnel boundary... sending SMS's without my consent, especially on a topic such as OTPs.</p>
