Paying Premium rates for no signal and no action for almost a year

During July-October 2018 the signal at my home began to deteriorate and I registered a complaint/enquiry. What has emerged since then is a rather bizarre practice by vodacom of sending SMS's. My phone is flooded with SMS' escalating this and opening that but no one does anything. They just seem to send ˜SMS' then close the "ticket". No one ever calls or asks of the problem has been solved but the do ask if my experience was "awesome". Since October I have been re-opeing tickets and witnessing the repeat flood of SMS's and ticket closures. Does Vodacom violate it's obligations towards a consumer and it's license by simply playing this game.

Eventually a technician visited and confirmed the missing signal...I have mostly Edge connectivity and have to walk outside into a carport to make a call. Any data flow is a rarity.

Despite this near complete lack if signal I still pay R1700 per month for a Red Premium package.

Vodacom have suggested that the problem could take another six months to remedy which means I'm left with no data or service for around 9-12 months! In this regard I requested to be placed on a pay as you go package and receive a refund for the seven months plus they have not supp**** me with a signal. Then resume the premium contract when they have a service for me to use.

However all I receive is promises when I call their agents and nothing is done. In the meantime the SMS's keep coming....

Here's a small sample of their SMS flood... Dear Vodacom Customer. A service ticket with reference number A2-FADC-3LB4GF has been logged to a support team for investigation. Thank you Vodacom. Hello. We there's no surprise that I have received four identical SMS from Vodacom since this post. It remains to be seen if this is yet another escalation and barrage of SMS' or if something will actually be done.
