Paying for insurance I cancelled 3 months ago

31st March 2022: I cancelled my Vodacom cellular insurance with insurance department via telephone. I was aware that I was liable for payment at the end of April 10th of May: billed again for end of May according to invoice. Called insurance department and he claimed it is cancelled but he wasn’t sure. He told me to call customer services, they lady advised that it is not cancelled as it is still appearing on her side. She then called insurance with me still on the line and the same gentleman I spoke to advised that if my debit order goes off then I must call back. I then advised that I do not pay via debit order but via eft and I already received the statement for May which means I will have to make the payment. He then said they could do a reversal of the payment goes off since it’s supposed to be cancelled. Both agents weee confused but said that maybe this was April’s premium that is still due. I reluctantly paid at the end of May. 10 June 2022: Now I am being billed again for end of June, which means the insurance is clearly not cancelled. I went to cape gate Vodacom store on the 11th of June and the lady there said they cannot cancel any insurance. I asked her for complaints number and she advised I complain via hellopeter as they are of no help via email or call centre.

I would like my last two premiums reversed and I will not be paying for June. Please assist with cancelling this , sending me proof as well as refunding me. I will be going to the ombudsman if this is not resolved. The only reason I am still paying is so that it doesn’t affect my credit score- I have taken insurance for the phone with Outsurance so now it is costing me double because Vodacom is ***********.

Reviewer Update
Not sure what the Turn around time is, as it wasn’t advised in your response, but since receiving feedback thy this has been escalated to finrite, I have not received any correspondence. I did, however receive a call from Barbara on the 17th June 2022, stating that I need to provide proof that I called them to cancel my insurance in March and April. I didn’t not have such proof, therefore I advised her to retrieve the call recordings. She stated she would get back to me but I haven’t heard anything since- besides the update on hellopeter stating this has been escalated to finrite last week. The next payment is due by month end and I am concerned about my credit score and feel that any late payment fees should be waived as well as I am not even supposed to be making these payments.
