Paying for cancelled contract

I am typing this here out of desperation with regarding to a contract that I have cancelled with Vodacom that has up to date not been cancelled. Unfortunately this is not the first time that I had to complain here regarding billing and cancelation issues with Vodacom. The first time was in December 2015 in connection with a different number but the same scenario. It seems that since then up to now Vodacom still struggles with their own procedures and policies when it comes to cancelation of contracts!

In November 2016 I gave notice that I want to cancel one of my contracts with Vodacom. There were no outstanding amount for the device so it should have been an easy cancelation. After I gave notice I ported the number to Cell C and this created a ghost number on your side. I noticed the ghost number on my next billing and phone the retentions department again and they stated that the ghost number was created to be able to bill me for the last outstanding amount on my account but it is cancelled since it was created after I cancelled the original account. Since then Vodacom has continued to bill met for the ghost number and I contacted the retentions department again to ask why this is happening and the response was that it has been cancelled and it was the last bit of costs that was deducted. This month I was billed for this number yet again. Again I phone the retentions department and all of the sudden I had to cancel the ghost number because there is no cancelation done from my side on this number. This after I phone the retentions department quite a few times to confirm the cancellation of the number. This is totally unacceptable!!! So the ghost number was only cancelled today where I have my original contract in November 2016!

Clearly there is a procedure or check missing because this has happened to me twice within a space of a year! And if this is happening to me how many other customers are affected by a faulty system or procedure?

As per normal Vodacom procedures there is no way that I am able to speak to a manager for futher assistance!

Best regards,
A Vodacom consultant have contacted me regarding the issue, but only time will tell if Vodacom will hold to their word. Unfortunatly I have another contract with Vodacom and therefore I will most probably go through this yet again!
