Pathetic Vodacom Service

This has taken me a while to write but I have had just about enough.

I had 2 accounts with Vodacom, which I had closed on the 7th August 2019 because i left SA. All was settled, confirmation of the closure was received however from October 2019 up until January 2020 i had debit orders come off from my Bank account and each month was a different amount totaling R982.4 (bearing in mind I had one amount come off from my account each month prior to the closure). I contacted Vodacom on several occasions and on each occasion the account closure was confirmed and a refund was promised. I eventually resorted to having the bank block these charges and place a reversal on it. In March 2020, I sent a letter to Vodacom Head Office and I am still awaiting a response, with an email indicating ALL conversations (All calls I made from outside SA) 4 Feb 2020 call: - Thulisile (Accounts dept) – account shows called in December – Vodacom must refund R455.01 - Siwe (Retentions) – account shows in arrears – must speak to Legal Dept - Nomzamo (Legal) – contract called in October as Late Cancellation; Retentions needs to do Credit & then account will be shown as cancelled. Advised to call back to make sure contract is cancelled entirely ; October amount only one that shows must be refunded 9 March 2020 call: - Spoke to Maureen (Legal) – said to speak to Retentions and log a dispute - Spoke to Mthuzi (Retentions) – said accounts are cancelled and status shows “Pre-Legal” - Spoke again to Legal – they said account has been handed over & nothing they can do. Would advise to speak direct to Attorneys so that they can escalate query directly with Vodacom 10 March 2020 - Spoke to Pretty, and her subsequent discussion with her manager, she confirmed the matter will be sorted.

On April 6th, 2020 I then received a Letter of demand from Vodacom claiming an outstanding amount of R455, I then made contact with Vodacom again spoke to Philip who confirmed the accounts were cancelled, directed my call to the retentions department, then confirmed a short credit has been passed and a refund of R455 is due to me.

On September 30th I received a notification of Legal action from HP attorneys regarding an outstanding amount on my Vodacom account, I responded to the email and STILL awaiting a response. Instead I received another email informing me that due to them being unable to speak to me Legal action will have to be taken and additional Collection and Legal fees will be charged. Again I responded with an email and another phone call. Today, 07 October 2020 another notification.

This is really annoying and unacceptable from Both VODACOM and HP Attorneys and unfortunately I am not sure what more to do.
