Pathetic Vodacom Service

I recently moved house and Vodacom instructed me to submit a relocation application, which I did immediately. After a week or so I followed up with them as I had not received feedback. I was eventually told that they were unable to fulfill on the application as they do not provide fibre to the estate in which I have moved to. I had no option but to cancel my fibre contract. I stress that the only reason I resorted to cancelling was due to the inability of Vodacom to fulfill on my application to relocate. The new owner of the house I sold started to get irate because no other service provider could access the fibre line - Vodacom told me that it was Vumatel who would not release the fibre line to him ( I have no relationship with Vumatel whatsoever). Vodacom referred me to some general terms and conditions on their website (which I have never read before and which ate not included in any contract I have signed). After many weeks of frustration and hours and hours of calls to the contact centre, and out of desperation I ended up paying R1725 to Vodacom to get Vumatel to release the fibre line to the new owner - more than a month after I moved to my new address (where I needed to take out another contract with another provider). Vodacom took the money and despite numerous emails, simply subtracted it to my monthly subscription bill without contacting Vumatel in any way. I receive daily calls from the new owner threatening me and saying how it has inconvenienced him and his family as well as his new service provider. I am at my wits end over this pathetic beurocratic nonsense. In my opinion it is not lawful to publish terms and conditions that do not require customers to even acknowledge their existence and then hold customers to ransom and hide behind the so called "agreement". There is no agreement and Vodacom cannot provide me with any document where I agreed to such terms. I intend taking this complaint to ICASA and based on my experience I would strongly suggest prospective Vodacom fibre customers to find an alternative provider to Vodacom! You do not want to go through what I am currently going through. This remains unresolved after more than a month of emails, calls and escalations.

I placed my complaint on Hello Peter on 28 Dec. More than a week later and still no response/reply/solution/action. What on earth do I need to do to get someone to respond and more importantly to resolve my issue. I have called and called and even when given a reference number for the call, the agents cannot trace the reference number. I am an executive in a listed company and yet not important enough for someone to pick up the phone. I find it totally unacceptable that management leaves before 4pm with no stand-in or supervisor or specialist to support the agents. I will be writing to ICASA as there appears to be no Vodacom internal complaint resolution process whatsoever!
