Pathetic Vodacom service

I requested an online upgrade on a contract on 14 July 2016 for a contract that ends today on 29 July 2016. I concluded it by phone on Friday 15 July and was told that the delivery would take 3 - 5 business days. With delivery arranged at my business address, I assumed that I would receive the package from the Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and I waited until Monday, 25 July before calling the upgrades department. So they tell me that the courier wanted to deliver the package on 18 July but no one answered the phone. The said phone is used by my son, who is in school and does not pick up the phone. So they simply take the package back to the Vodacom warehouse. On the courier website, it first says they need an address (which I provided), then it says that security did not want to let them in (which is nonsense), and then they don't deliver. Trying to get this information, the upgrades department started mysteriously losing my call everytime I identify myself. I tried the online chat - which is a joke - because it automatically disconnects you. Called Customer Service and the lady there (Margaret) tells my the people at upgrades drops the call on purpose. Imagine my surprise. Then I say okay, well cancel the whole deal so I can do the upgrade instore. It has now been three days on the phone with Vodacom and they have still not cancelled the upgrade. This, despite the phone being returned to the Vodacom warehouse on 18 July - I presume. So now I cannot upgrade anywhere - online or instore. Everytime I call Cindy from upgrades she just tells me the same sad tired excuse, but nothing happens. Four days to cancel an upgrade, are they serious? I've been a Vodacom customer since forever, but I think I will consider Telkom's Freeme deal and free myself from Vodacom, one contract at a time.

This standard response is so typical and disrespectful. Vodacom has been aware of my complaint for a week now. Don't bother to call me, unless it's to let me know that the upgrade has been cancelled. In fact, just let me know on this forum that it has been cancelled because I do not need to waste more time on the phone with a consultant.

An update: So I walked into Vodacom Brooklyn on Saturday 7 August to personally cancel the Vodacom contract after moving to Telkom Freeme, and the person tells me that there is still an upgrade in progress. He will put in a service request and then Vodacom will contact me within 48 hours. Well, that was 4 days ago and no one contacted me. Are there any minus stars to give Vodacom because at this point, 1 star is a hell of a compliment.
