Pathetic service form Vodacom Brooklyn

Hi

I an on a Smart XL+ contract with Vodacom, and received an LG G5 phone. I also have two other contracts with Vodacom. I upgraded to the Smart XL+ contract and the LG G5 in January 2017.

The evening on the 13th of December 2017 my phone started giving problems, and didn’t want to charge. I took my phone in to Brooklyn Vodacom for repairs on 14th December 2017. They advised mw that their technician must first have a look at the phone before they can book it in. I waited more than a hour for the technician to help me, he tried to put phone on charge, and then said no I should book the phone in.

The consultant advised me that the repair centre was closing for December break and they would only be able to do the repair in Jan. I then took the phone into Let's Trade Mobile in Montana on the 15th December 2017. I receive the phone back from them on 11th January 2018. The phone only charged up until a certain point, then the did not want to change any more.

I took the phone into Vodacom Brooklyn on 12th January 2018, and advised them off the problem and the history. They said that I should take the phone back to Let's Trade Mobile, because it is their problem. After telling them that I will not take it back to Let's Trade Mobile, because my contract is with Vodacom and they should provide me with a service, they agreed to book the phone in with them.

The booked in the phone and dispatched it to the repair centre in Potchefstroom. My Job number: ********** 9 (12/01/2018). The phone was send back without any work or testing done on the phone, and they requested that I submit my charger as well.

I then booked the phone and the charges in, and it was send to the repair centre in Potchefstroom. My Job number: ********** 1 (18/01/2018). I received the phone back on 29th January 2018. I charged the phone the whole evening and it again only charged up to a certain point, and did not want to charge again.

I took my phone back to Vodacom Brooklyn on 30 January 2018, I spoke to Jacq, a manager at the store. The promised to escalate the problem. The phone was send to the repair centre in Potchefstroom. My Job number: ********** 3 (30/01/2018). The phone was assessed by the Repair centre, and then they send it to the Advance Repair Centre in Midrand. (02/02/2018) The Advance Repair Centre charged me R473.93 to replace the battery of the phone.

I received my phone back on 17th February. I again charged the phone the whole evening and it again only charged up to a certain point, and did not want to charge again. On the 18th February I took the phone back to Vodacom Brooklyn. Jacq said he couldn’t believe it, because he tested the phone himself before giving it back to me. They took the phone and did internal testing on the phone. Jacq promised to escalate the issue with the Branch manager Craig.

I did not receive any communication from Vodacom, so I went back to the Vodacom Brooklyn store to find out what was going on. I spoke to Craig, and he was not aware of the issue. This means Jacq did not escalate the issue. Craig promised to follow up the issue. He phoned me later the day, and said that they will ask head office to replace my phone with a new one.

Then the phone was send to the Repair centre in Potchefstroom. My Job number: ********** 1 (26/02/2018). The phone was assessed by the Repair centre, and then they send it to the Advance Repair Centre in Midrand. I spoke to the Repair centre in Potchefstroom’s manager, and she promised to test the phone herself before send it back to me.

When Repair centre in Potchefstroom’s got the phone back, and the issue was still not resolved. The send the phone back to the Advance Repair Centre. My Job number: ********** 0 (05/03/2018).

I have been without my phone for almost three months, and I still had to pay the full amount on my contract, but are not able to use what I am paying for. This is really pathetic service form Vodacom Brooklyn.
