Pathetic Service Fibre to the Home
After many communications with Vodacom Fibre to the home (FTTH), I am no nearer to the cancellation of same. I pre-ordered Vodacom FTTH week of 1st to 5th of March. I pre ordered because the fibre is not live yet here. On the 11th of March I received an SMS informing me that the request for FTTH was declined and that I should contact my Credit Bureau. I did as requested costing me R101.00 to find out that I had no issues as far as my credit worthiness was concerned. I therefore contacted WebAfrica on the same day to pre order FTTH through them seeing that Vodacom was not interested in my business. The very next day the 12th of March I received an SMS from Vodacom to inform me that my order had been approved. As I already had approached WebAfrica, I decided to inform Vodacom of their SMS declining my order and that I would therefor request them to cancel my request. I was then told that it would take 30 days for them to cancel my order. After many calls to Vodacom I insisted that I speak to a supervisor on the 18th of March, a person by the name of Vishroan was informed of my issue and that due to their mistake they should cancel my order immediately and asked him for his phone number so that I could contact him this morning to find out if he had done as requested. I called the number this morning to find that the number he gave me was false. My problem now is that due to the delay in Vodacom's cancellation policy of 30 days, my order with WebAfrica cannot go ahead because Vodacom and WebAfrica use the same infrastructure and the order with the owner of the infrastructure will not allow two service providers to use the same fibre. Surely due to their fault, the fact that the FTTH is not live yet and cooling off period, 30 days cancellation should be levied.
