Pathetic Service – Charged for WhatsApp After Contract Was Cancelled!

I am extremely disappointed with Vodacom’s service. My contract ended months ago, and I completed all the required steps for non-renewal including signing the documents and converting the SIM card from contract to prepaid.

Now, months later, I’m suddenly receiving emails from the Collections Department claiming that I owe R150.30 for “WhatsApp and SMS payments.” Both I and the consultant I spoke to were shocked by this. Since when do customers get charged for using WhatsApp?

I have contacted Vodacom multiple times, and each time I get sent from department to department from Collections to Accounts and back again without any real help. It’s frustrating, time-consuming, and unacceptable.

For the record, the SIM card in question is not even registered for WhatsApp, so these charges make absolutely no sense.

Vodacom, please clear my account and stop sending me these misleading collection emails. I do not owe you any money, and this level of service is simply pathetic.
