PATHETIC SERVICE AND DISGUSTED!!!!!!!! BEYOND FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!

I’m writing this to express my utmost frustration and disappointment after having visited a Vodacom store at The Glen Shopping Mall to purchase a prepaid sim card which unfortunately has caused me immense headaches and endless trips to the store for approximately 3 weeks now. This being as a result of an employee at your store who failed to handle my device appropriately and causing serve damage to it. On making an attempted to fix the problem at the store, without me being informed of what had happened to my device I sat for nearly 40 minutes whilst my phone was out of site and taken to the back. Eventually I was informed by a passing staff member that the gentleman who was initially responsible for the damaged caused (“Jabu” false name given by consultant) was trying to remove the sim card as he had pushed it far deeper than where it initially should have been placed.

Eventually he then returned, explained to me what had happened, addressed me and said that he will resolve the issue in about 3-4 working days. I then consented, with the belief that the phone will be booked in and repaired as per agreement stated to me. I then returned on the Thursday since the 4th working day had reached, and I was then told that the phone is still not ready, and that in fact I should come back on Monday. However I got aggravated at the fact that they did not keep me updated as to what is going on with the phone, meaning that I then had to leave where I was to come to the store and find out what is going on. Instead I was told that the job on the phone was done as a “favor” which I did not consent to, as this is a reputable brand, and that this will be resolved according to standards of the brand or the store. I then made clear that I did not request a favor to be done, I simply wanted my phone to be repaired, that’s when I was then told if that’s the case the phone will be ready by Thursday (19th of January). But what puzzled me, a gentleman by the name of Buhle, then called in and tried to find out what is the progress of the device, he was then told that the phone had not been repaired, in addition to that there was not even a diagnostic done on the phone, false information was delivered to be with little knowledge of what’s really going on in their workplace. This meaning that; had I not come to the store my device would have still been collecting dust where ever it was sent to, whilst I sit without a cellphone.

I then requested to speak to the manager since the consultants couldn’t really help me much, I express my frustration to the manager, who unfortunately did even know what was going on, I then asked “Jabu” to tell his manager what had transpired. Note this is the 2nd week that I have been left without a cellphone. She then cut the consultant short “Jabu” and told him to go and collect the phone the following day which is the Tuesday, and then walked off. Eventually on the Tuesday in faith that I will be notified to collect my device I was then told otherwise, I was told instead that my device will be ready on Thursday (19th January), by then I completely lost it. I had been overly patient with this entire matter, the manager was not helpful and failed to do follow ups on daily floor activities making sure that clients are constantly notified.

After having been left in the dark with no one to keep me updated on what’s going, Monday (23rd January) I returned to the store once again, asked one of the consultants to see Jabu, surprisingly she seemed unsure of who I was referring to, I then described the gentle and she then said to me “that his name is Junior and not Jabu”. I was stunned at this, but nonetheless proceeded to wait for the manager who eventually came to my “assistance” after 40mins of waiting to see her. I then asked her where Jabu was, she seemed unsure herself, and then quickly rep**** “oh Jabu, that’s his name as well but his name is Junior. To me this seemed very shady and very much like a cover up with is very unprofessional for someone in her position. I continued with the matter at hand and asked her what was the update, she had the audacity to ask me if (now, “Junior” had not contacted me, knowing very well than NOBODY has made contact with me since the last time I was at the store. She then told me it’s beyond her power and that only Junior should have gone to collect the phone. She then asked Buhle the gentleman who tried to assist before what the progress was on my phone, he then stated again that the phone will be ready on Tuesday (24th of January) meaning id then have to make my 4th-5th trip to the store. I was outraged at the fact that still she has no knowledge of what going on here and has little sense of urgency of assisting me and the problem I have. This clearly shows she does not keep day to day tabs or records of what occurs in the store, and does not assist customers when they have reached a point whereby they can no longer be patient, no longer understand, and simply be demanding, irate and rude. I have never been exposed to anything like this in my life time, I am extremely disappointed at the attitude from the employees who had allegedly “tried to assist”, but also to the lack of customer care and courtesy of the store. Management has failed to assist me, as she Khethiwe walked of and said she will not accept me telling her she has no knowledge of what’s going on around her. Tuesday 24th of January I was contacted and told again I would have to wait Thursday because the device is still not ready, this after the manager said she will try have the phone ready today. The conduct of mentioned staff is totally unprofessional and will not be tolerated any longer.
