Pathetic Service!!!

On the 26th of July 2016 I started the process of cancelling my brothers contract as he passed away on the 4th of July 2016. After follow up calls to the Vodacom cancellations/retentions department to enquire if the contract was cancelled and if there were any penalties/costs involved and being told the Legal team will contact me, I heard nothing from them.

I even commented on the Vodacom facebook page and was contacted once telephonically to be told that someone would contact me. As expected no one did!

Then on the 20th of September I receive a letter via email informing me as the Executor of his estate to pay a balance of R7678 with no detailed explanation as to what the cost is for.

Vodacom customer service is just pathetic, in this instance they didn’t even bother to provide me with advise as to what other options I had at cancellation stage. I don’t have a contract of my own and it is the first time I am doing something like this so you would expect the service provider to guide you.

They also need to review their policies for the deceased, how can they continue to charge for subscriptions that will be unused, have they no compassion and empathy!?!

To top it off, they also deactivated his SIM card, something I did not request and then told me that I must go to a store to reactivate it!!

I refuse to pay Vodacom the balance due unless someone contacts me to resolve this issue!!!
