PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE VODACOM

For many years I had a cellphone contract with Nashua Mobile. They then merged or where taken over by Vodacom direct. I received the notification but was not aware that the banking details had to be changed also. As a result, I continued to pay my monthly installments into the Nashua Mobile bank account as this was loaded as a beneficiary on my online banking system. A mnth or two later my phone was cut - I couldnt send or receive phonecalls and/or sms's. After finally making contact with BOTH the said parties, I emailed all my proof-of-payments to Vodacom & asked them to please reconnect my number as it was all just a misunderstanding which I was in the process of rectifying but that my account was 100% up to date. They refused. I then in turn refused to pay my account until they reconnected me. Needless to say, this never happened & I was handed over to "collections". After about 3 mnths my contract ended & I settled my account/contract 100%. I then went into the Canal Walk branch of Vodacom & asked them to re-instate my number but on a PREPAID basis. I completed all the paper work & paid for another/new sim card only to find out a few weeks later that this cannot be done as my number has been re-allocated to someone else. This is BS. I have phoned the number repeatedly & it just beeps & I am still using all my apps etc. whenever I have wifi so my number has NOT been re-allocated. I just want my number back. In service. No strings attached. Can anyone help/advise?

So after all this time, the saga continues. With Vodacom blaming my ORIGINAL service provider MTN & MTN in turn placing the blame on Vodacom. Needless to say, the issue has STILL not been resolved. Apparently the problem lies with my number lying "in quarantine"? I'm sorry, but in THIS day-and-age, with ALL the technological advances that are available to us, you want to tell me that my number cannot be "UN-quarantined" !?!?!
