Pathetic customer service - unresolved and still waiting

My cell number contract *** expired around 31 Aug 2022. I called Vodacom customer care in early September to cancel my contract. I was prompted to rather keep the number alive and go ahead with a R79 per month option which allocated data to me to use. I accepted the change to be made effective end Sept 2022. My debit order on 1 Oct ran and my subscription amount had not reduced. I currently live in Nairobi, Kenya but whilst in South Africa, after consulting the Vodacom store in Galleria mall on 3 Oct 2022 I was informed that the change to a R70 data bundle had not been done, my contract amount was still running at the full subscription on a Smart M package. The Vodacom store advised I call the Vodacom customer call cantre on 082 135 to have the issued resolved. On 3 Oct 2022 I called 082 135 for assistance. After waiting 35 minutes for a consultant to answer, they confirmed the change had not been done and I needed to call ***. I then called *** and spoke with Zukiswa at 15h20 who could not help and confirmed a supervisor would call me back when their meeting was concluded. I informed Zukiswa that I could not take any calls on Tuesday 4 Oct because I was flying back to Nairobi where I am currently living and working. It is now 19h05 on 3 Oct and still no call received from any Vodacom supervisor. I am shocked at how Vodacom can mess customers around and not assist especially after a deal was not loaded that I agreed to. The call centre agents I dealt are not qualified to deal with queries and took absolutely minimal time to even try resolve the matter. Extremely disappointed in how Vodacom are handling a customer that has been with them for over 8 years. I can be contacted this evening on *** or on +*** after landing again in Nairobi after 17h15 East Africa Time on 4 Oct 2022. My email address is with Vodacom as per the address used to mail my statements. If this is not resolved immediately, I will be reversing my debit order accordingly.

Dear Vodacom,

Since lodging my complaint on 3 Oct, no contact has been made from Vodacom to help resolve the problem. As indicated in my original complaint, I landed in Nairobi on 4th Oct and can be contacted on cell number +*** or via my email address that is on record with Vodacom.

I find it unacceptable that a corporate organization such as Vodacom would merely respond with a generic message and not actually deal with the problem. Is this how Vodacom forces customers to pay more money by not assisting them and then ignoring them?

I tried to resolve the matter with 3 x calls to the call centre and on the last attempt was told by Zukiswa that a supervisor would call me back. Your urgent response is required, I am waiting for you to make contact.

Regards,
