PATHETIC ‘Customer Care’ – Data revoked

On 1 December my upgrade took effect, R 200 airtime + 500mgs data, however, I was given a once off 5GIG data bundle valid for two months (i.o.w it will be deactived at the end of January and any unused data will fall away). In those two months, the 500mgs will not be allocated to me – GREAT.

At 00:05 on 1 January I received a sms saying my remaining data (2.1GIG) has been depleted. I then get my R 200 airtime, noting that the 500mgs was not given, considering they have unilaterally decided I no longer have access to the 2.1 GIG.

Since the 1 January I have called the call centre 10 times – 1/01, 2/01, 3/01, 4/01, 8/01, 9/01, 11/01, 13/01, 15/01 and 16/01. With each and every call I got a complete run around. On the 11/01, was the only time I received a sms with a reference number, previously I was told it would be sent and it never was OR when I called in again, I was informed that the previous agent in actual fact never logged the complaint OR the complaint was logged with the incorrect department.

I was then put through to the SOLUTIONS department, who was unable to assist and upon calling back I was informed there is no SOLUTONS department. With each call I speak to a different call centre agent, and without a reference number it meant explaining over and over again the purpose of the call. Naturally I been purchasing my own data over this period and did not realise I ran out or data (no sms was sent), I then went into out of bundle rates and unknowingly used R 100 airtime.

I have been a VODACOM customer for the past 15 years and have never been this disgusted and unsatisfied by the level of/lack of service I have received. There is no follow through and no accountability from their call centre. I went as far as speaking to a call centre supervisor and even he had not called me back.

All of this coming off the back of me spending three weeks in December callling into the call centre, spending anywhere between 25-45 minutes per call trying to sort out and ungrade problem!

It is a real pity that I have only just upgraded as I now need to see this contract through until December 2019. As for my other two existing contracts expiring in 2017 – there is absolutely no way I will be renewing those contracts with VODACOM!
