Pap val op die grond!

Good day,

My name is Cobus,

My account number is NM094593-0
The number of the data contract pertaining to this enquiry is ********** 970

About 2 years ago I received a phone call from Vodacom telling me they can offer me a data package for my cell phone that's a lot more cost effective than the one I had at that stage. At that stage I paid about R100 for an extra 500mb per month. So the guy over the phone told me he can offer me a contract of R188.99 per month for 3 GB data. I agreed to this. At the end of the conversation he told me that they will also send me a router. I simply thought it's extra to use an open line if I want. At no point did he introduce the offer as a separate router that I will have to carry around with my phone if I want access to the data. In fact he knew how much extra data I purchased for my phone each month and the whole sales pitch was centered around that.

When I discovered that my phone was not loaded with the data, I phoned Vodacom and complained that I was mislead. The guy on the other end told me he will immediately cancel the contract and that the people who sold it to me are from another company that has a contract with Vodacom to do tele sales (or something like that)

Now fast forward (what I think is about) 2 years to March 2017. I logged a dispute with Vodacom for another reason, and after referring to an invoice I saw that this other nonsense contract was still being deducted from my account

So on 29 March I logged a query with an agent at Vodacom ( ********** ) who told me she will request a cancellation of the contract and get Vodacom to listen to my phone calls from way back to see if they need to reimburse me for the deductions that were not supposed to go off.

On 12 April I phoned back after receiving no feedback. I spoke to Selwin Buys. He informed me that the lady did log a cancellation request, but that no request was made to listen to my phone calls from way back to determine if I need to be reimbursed. He told me that I should take his name. That he will get to the bottom of this.

Today, 24 April, I phoned again as I still hadn't received any feedback. The agent I spoke to told me I was barking up the wrong tree, that I must phone another Vodacom number for my type of enquiry( ********** ). I asked him then to first put me through to Selwin Buys as he told me no such thing the previous time I phoned. I then asked Selwin what progress he made with my enquiry and he had absolutely no answer.

So between the guy who sold the contract to me, the guy who I first cancelled the contract with 2 years ago, the lady I called on 29 March and Selwin I called on 12 April and 24 April, NOTHING WAS DONE!! No referral, no feedback, no NOTHING!!!

I then phoned ********** as per instruction from mentioned agent.
The agent called Zama Kunene then told me that I can not cancel the contract before August. She also told me that Vodacom will not cancel the contract if I can not return the router. I told her that I don't have any clue where the router is. That I have moved since being sold the bogus contract and that it's not my fault if Vodacom does not collect their router after I explicitly cancelled the contract long ago.

She then told me that they will listen to the phone calls, but that I must remember which number I phoned from and which number I phoned to with my initial cancellation 2 years ago. How am I supposed to be sure of that? Surely this can't be the only way? Don't you guys keep a diary on a client's profile? Don't you document every action taken on a profile? In all my years as Vodacom client, I must have phoned you guys no more than 15 times and given the date that the contract was sold to me, it should not be difficult to locate the note made on the day of my initial cancellation.

Anyway, it seems like Zama was the first one to really get things going, so could you please check all the phone calls I made to 082 111, ********** and ********** from ********** 051

I will not accept anything other than a reimbur*****t of my deductions. Had I known the contract could not be cancelled until August 2017, I could have at least used the data I was paying for, but the guy who handled the initial cancellation told me the cancellation was a DONE DEAL. Had the guy not given me false information, I could have at least benefited from using the data around the house, but I never used 1 mb of data.
